MARIO BALOTELLI will be assessed by Liverpool's medical team ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final replay with Blackburn tomorrow evening (7:45pm KO).
The Italian missed the Reds' 4-1 loss to Arsenal on Saturday after picking up a knock to his knee in training, although Brendan Rodgers revealed after the match that Balotelli had ruled himself out.
Rodgers said: "He felt it was too sore to travel. The medical staff have looked at it.
"It was something that he himself didn't feel comfortable with to travel."
Liverpool are without Emre Can as the German serves his one-match ban following his sending off at the Emirates.
BEING ASSESSED: Mario Balotelli could return against Blackburn after missing the match with Arsenal
His absence means Dejan Lovren is likely to start his first game since the original tie against Blackburn a month ago.
Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard will also miss the tie as they serve the second game of their three-match suspensions.
Provisional squad: Mignolet, Toure, Lovren, Sakho, Johnson, Henderson, Allen, Markovic, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge, Jones, Manquillo, Enrique, Brannagan, Lucas, Lambert, Borini, Balotelli.
