IT WAS a weekend of belting goals in English football but in Spain something far stranger took place.

This is the moment that Barcelona and Spain ace Sergio Busquets had grass thrown in his face by a frustrated opponent.

Barcelona were leading Celta Vigo 1-0 in a tense clash when Busquets, infamous for his footballing theatrics, tried to waste time over a free-kick.

Celta Vigo striker Fabian Orellana argued angrily with the referee before lobbing some grass in the midfielder's face.

Busquets did not miss the opportunity to milk the "attack" for all it was worth – grabbing his eye despite the tuft of turf clearly hitting him on the back of the neck.

While most viewers found the incident highly amusing referee Inaki Vicandi Garrido was not so impressed, dismissing Orellana.

Barcelona's narrow win kept them four points ahead of rivals Real Madrid, who won 9-1 against Granada with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring five.
