Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hannover 96 preview - Korkut upbeat despite poor run

With the latest vote of confidence still ringing in his ears, Hannover coach Tayfun Korkut leads his side to Eintracht Frankfurt this Saturday quite sure he has a future at the club no matter what the outcome.

The Lower Saxony side have yet to win a single game in 2015, but they once again made their backing of Korkut public in the wake of a home defeat to Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago.

Club president Martin Kind has reiterated the club's stance once again, insisting that Korkut is not on borrowed time.

"I really, honestly have not thought about (sacking Korkut) for a second," Kind told Bundesliga.de.

"When we appointed Tayfun Korkut we intentionally went for a coach with prospects. Hannover are his first coaching job in the Bundesliga and we always knew there would be setbacks.

"What matters to us is that Mr Korkut is a highly qualified and incredibly dedicated coach who learns from negative experiences and turns them into positives.

"It's true that I rate Tayfun very highly as a person. What's decisive is that Mr Korkut has the quality we need and that we remain in control of our own destiny, and I trust the coach to achieve this."

At the same time, Kind admits he has considered alternatives, but he says there is no one single way which guarantees success.

"Of course people have been recommending that we change coach, but they must also present us with somebody who has a very big chance of keeping us up," Kind admitted.

"Right now, we don't feel there are any decent options on the coaching market."

Korkut therefore looks likely to keep his job even in the event of defeat at the Waldstadion, which would leave the Reds potentially inside the bottom three.

That would not be a position in keeping with their potential, according to Frankfurt coach Thomas Schaaf.

"They invested a lot last summer and set high goals," Schaaf said. "We all know there can be difficult times, but at the same time we know how much quality they have got still."
