Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is considering a shock loan move for Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
This is according to the Mirror, who understand Mourinho is seriously considering replacing club legend Didier Drogba with Adebayor this summer should the Ivory Coast international leave Stamford Bridge.
Drogba could announce his retirement at the end of the season when his one-year contract with the Blues expires - and Mourinho clearly feels the much-maligned Adebayor would have something similar to offer Chelsea.
ADEBAYOR DID A JOB FOR MOURINHO AT REAL MADRID
Mourinho signed Adebayor on loan in 2011 while managing Real Madrid - and the move was a surprise success, with the Togo international scoring a reasonably impressive eight goals in 22 appearances at the Bernabeu, helping Los Blancos win the Copa del Rey in the process.
Adebayor replaced Mesut Ozil in the second half of the 2011 Copa del Rey final, against Barcelona at the Camp Nou, and was on the pitch when Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal in extra time.
