Chelsea have no say over future of high flying Fiorentina loan star

When Chelsea offered Fiorentina over £20m plus Mohamed Salah for Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado, it appeared that Jose Mourinho’s side were getting a great deal. It seemed that they were signing one of the in form men in European football, whilst offloading the Egyptian, who had been considered a flop during his time at Stamford Bridge.

However, with the Colombian barely featuring for the Blues, and Salah flying in Serie A, Chelsea fans may be hoping that their club has a clause in place that allows them to bring the 22-year-old back. According to the Daily Star however, that is not the case.

Salah has been fantastic since his move - bagging six goals in nine games - helping his new side maintain their strong position in Serie A, whilst reaching the last eight of the Europa League. It would be no surprise therefore, if Vincenzo Montella made keeping hold of the winger his top transfer priority in the summer.

The Star report that it would only cost the Italian side £750,000 to extend the current loan deal for another twelve months, and they could then make the move permanent at the end of the next campaign for £11.7m. That sum would be a steal should Salah maintain his early form, and means that Chelsea could potentially have no say on the future of the player.
