Dumbarton vs Falkirk preview - Van Zanten missing for Sons

Dumbarton look for their first win of the season over Falkirk without David van Zanten who remains absent with a knee problem.

Scott Linton and Darren Petrie are injury doubts, with manager Ian Murray hoping that Stuart Findlay came through an appearance for Scotland Under-21s on Thursday unscathed.

Murray said: "We are not over the line in terms of safety, however winning this game would push us really close to it. We won at Livingston last weekend without playing at our best and we will not get away with that against Falkirk.

"After two draws and a defeat from them this season it would be nice to get a win."

Falkirk will be without the banned Tom Taiwo as they look for the win that could propel them back into a play-off place.

David McCracken will return after injury kept him out of the 1-0 win over Cowdenbeath in midweek, though Rory Loy is a doubt.

Bairns manager Peter Houston said: "It has been a good few days for us as we moved to within a point of Queen of the South.

"We are now looking to get the win that could see us go above them if they do not win at Hearts, but we know that it will not be easy as Dumbarton are a decent side."
