Sheffield United vs Crewe Alexandra preview - Duo blunt Blades squad

Posted Friday, March 27, 2015 by PA

Sheffield United striker Matt Done and goalkeeper Mark Howard are not expected to feature in the home game against Crewe.

Howard missed the midweek win against Scunthorpe due to a minor back issue and Iain Turner is set to continue, while Done is nursing sore calves and will be monitored.

Defender Jay McEveley is hoping to be back in the squad after missing the last two games due to a shoulder problem, while midfielder Stefan Scougall and defender Terry Kennedy (both knee) are closing in on their returns.

Midfielder James Wallace (muscular) is also edging closer to a recall and defender Marc McNulty is pushing for a place in the starting XI.

Marcus Haber and James Jones will miss out for Crewe due to international commitments.

Striker Haber has gone away with Canada and could even miss the Good Friday fixture with Crawley while midfielder Jones is with Scotland's Under-19s.

Boss Steve Davis will check on George Ray's rib injury, with the defender missing the Oldham loss last Saturday after receiving another blow on his bruised area.

Ryan Colclough (hernia) has now played two 90-minute games for the development squad following his lengthy absence while Davis is also hopeful that both Ben Garratt (broken leg) and Matt Tootle (ankle) will be involved down the stretch.
