Rochdale vs Yeovil Town preview - Allen ruled out for Dale

Posted Friday, March 27, 2015 by PA

Rochdale midfielder Jamie Allen has been ruled out of the home game against Yeovil due to a head injury that may have ended his season.

Allen sustained a nasty cut following a first-half challenge with Mat Sadler in Tuesday night's derby defeat at Oldham and was later taken to hospital for treatment.

Striker Peter Vincenti (groin) and midfielder Stephen Dawson (knee) were also forced out of the midweek action and remain doubtful, so the likes off Ollie Lancashire, Bastien Hery, Rueben Noble-Lazarus and Joe Bunney will all be in contention.

Midfielder Matty Lund (shoulder) and striker Calvin Andrew (knee) remain long-term absentees as Dale chase a place in the top six.

International duty will rob Yeovil of four first-team regulars this weekend.

Liam Shephard and Josh Sheehan will miss out for Terry Skiverton's side as they are with Wales' Under-21s while fellow Swansea loanee Stephen Kingsley is with Scotland's Under-21s.

And with Joel Grant on international duty with Jamaica, Yeovil's resources will be stretched as they look to cut the nine-point gap between themselves and safety and they may also have to manage without their captain.

Joe Edwards' ankle problem means he is a big doubt for the match after being rushed back into action in the defeat at Leyton Orient.
