Liverpool are weighing up a £19.5m move for the Ukraine star who played a major role in dumping rivals Everton out of the Europa League.

Andriy Yarmolenko, 25, scored for Dynamo Kiev in the 5-2 hammering on Thursday night to put the Premier League on full alert with his man-of-the-match performance.

Ukraine's player of the year has long been admired by Liverpool – who are still waiting for Raheem Sterling to commit to a new contract, with Manchester City reportedly willing to splash £50m to snatch him away from Anfield.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also shown huge interest in Yarmolenko, while West Ham and Newcastle have had the attacking winger tracked for the past 12 months.

Yarmolenko certainly caught the eye of Roberto Martinez after his starring role in Kiev – and the Everton boss has no doubts he would be a big hit in ngland. He said: “He would be a good signing for the Premier League.

"Any player who has got good ability in one-to-one situations and brings a goal-scoring threat can find a big role."

"Our league is very physical, very demanding. Yarmolenko controls the moment of the game really well."

"He's got 10, 15 goals a season. He has good experience and is a good age."
