Sheffield United vs Fleetwood Town preview - Baxter back for Blades

Posted Friday, March 06, 2015 by PA

Sheffield United midfielder Jose Baxter is available again for the home game against Fleetwood after suspension.

Baxter has served a three-game ban following his recent dismissal against Coventry and is expected to feature, but Ryan Flynn is a major doubt due to a recurrence of his hamstring trouble.

Defender Terry Kennedy remains sidelined with a knee injury that will keep him out for another three weeks, while both midfielder Stefan Scougall (knee) and striker Michael Higdon (hamstring) are still absent.

Goalkeeper Mark Howard (back) has returned to training but is not ready for action and defender Paul Coutts is hoping to shake off illness after withdrawing at half-time in the midweek defeat to Peterborough.

Fleetwood make the trip to South Yorkshire boosted by the return of two players from suspension.

Stephen Crainey is back following his two-match ban for his dismissal against Notts County, yet boss Graham Alexander was tight-lipped on whether the ex-Wigan full-back would win his spot back from new loanee Adam Chicksen.

Midfielder Antoni Sarcevic also returns having served a one-game suspension and he will look to send Gareth Evans back to the bench once more.

The Cod Army, who remain without Danny Andrew (knee) and Jamille Matt (leg), signed Akil Wright from non-league Ilkeston this week and the midfielder may come into the squad.
