Blackpool vs Sheffield Wed. preview - Davies and Lewis unlikely to play

Blackpool will likely leave two of their better performers this season out of their squad for Sheffield Wednesday's visit to Bloomfield Road.

Top scorer Steven Davies has asked to speak to another club and missed out at Birmingham on Wednesday night while on-loan first-choice goalkeeper Joe Lewis, who was also omitted in the midlands, has been left in the cold because he does not want to join the club permanently.

Boss Lee Clark is also without Gary Madine up front as he cannot play against his parent club and full-back Niall Maher was forced off in midweek after he suffered a recurrence of his groin problem.

Charles Dunne is still suspended and youngsters Henry Cameron (ankle) and Mark Waddington (foot) are also out.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without injured pair Jose Semedo and Kamil Zayatte, who both sustained injury in midweek.

Skipper Semedo was forced out of the home defeat to Blackburn with a foot injury and defender Zayatte picked up a hamstring strain.

They were replaced by Chris Maguire and Jeremy Helan respectively and the latter two both hope to start, although Marnick Vermijl gives boss Stuart Gray an alternative defensive option.

Striker Stevie May, midfielder Kieron Lee and defender Joe Mattock are pushing for recalls.
