Thibaut Courtois has taken over from Cech as Chelsea's No 1 this season, although the 32-year-old was in goal when they won the Capital One Cup final against Spurs on Sunday.

Mourinho has always rated Cech as one of the best 'keepers in world football and his stance has not changed.

He will not stand in his way if Cech does wish to leave, but Chelsea will be looking for a big transfer fee for the Czech Republic international, who is closing on 500 total appearances for the club.

"If he tells me he wants to leave, I will tell him my opinion and my opinionis one of the three best goalkeepers in the world. Huge money," Mourinho said.

The subject of the goalkeeper situation at Stamford Bridge had been subject of a number of press reports on Tuesday, with Spurs back-up Brad Friedel widely linked with a move across London.

And Celtic stopper Craig Gordon was said to be part of a Chelsea short-list by The Scotsman, with QPR's Rob Green, Norwich City 'keeper John Ruddy and Aston Villa's Shay Given also linked.
