Dunfermline 0 - 1 Brechin City: Pars edged out by Brechin
Posted Wednesday, February 25, 2015 by PA
Dunfermline suffered successive league defeats after they were edged out 1-0 by Brechin in Scottish League One.
Midfielder Ryan Thomson created the first chance of the match for Athletic but his header failed to test goalkeeper Graeme Smith.
At the other end, City striker Alan Trouten should have done better from 12 yards but he blazed over as a drab first-half came to a close.
Defender Gerard McLauchlan was then denied from close range after his powerful header was brilliantly stopped by goalkeeper Ryan Scully following Bobby Barr's corner.
But Brechin did take the lead after 73 minutes when Robert Thomson picked out Trouten in the box for a simple header.
The hosts huffed and puffed but failed to create any meaningful chances as City stretched their unbeaten run to three league matches.
