Carlisle vs Wycombe Wanderers preview - Double trouble for Carlisle

Carlisle have suffered a double injury blow in the build-up to their home clash with promotion-chasing Wycombe.

Midfielder David Symington will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury while on loan at Workington, while goalkeeper Mark Gillespie has been ruled out for up to six weeks after tearing his groin.

Centre-back Troy Archibald-Henville is expected to shrug off an ongoing knee problem to take his place in the starting line-up, where he will be joined by Kyle Dempsey, who signed an improved 18-month deal on Wednesday.

The Blues head into the weekend three points above the relegation zone after back-to-back defeats.

Wycombe look ready to hand a start to Paul Hayes for the first time since early January when they make the trip.

The Blues have struggled to score goals since their top scorer picked up a calf injury six weeks ago but he returned to action as a substitute in their defeat to Newport last weekend and is expected to step back in the starting line-up.

Matt McClure, who missed a few chances against the Exiles, could be the player to make way as the Chairboys look to get back to winning ways.

Gareth Ainsworth's men sit five points off the top two following back-to-back defeats.
