Carlisle - Shrewsbury Town preview - Dempsey banned for Carlisle

Carlisle will be without suspended midfielder Kyle Dempsey for their home game against Shrewsbury.

Dempsey was sent off for two yellow-card offences in Saturday's win at Tranmere and sits out a one-game ban, so Brad Potts is expected to return to the starting line-up having made way for Antony Sweeney at the weekend.

Centre-half Troy Archibald-Henville will be assessed due to his ongoing knee problem and if he is rested Courtney Meppen-Walter could be switched from midfield to central defence.

Striker Charlie Wyke will resume up front after his double at Tranmere took his tally to three in as many matches since arriving on loan from Middlesbrough.

Tyrone Barnett is pushing for his first Shrewsbury start after coming off the bench to score on his debut against Southend on Saturday.

James Wesolowski and Andy Mangan (both knee) are sidelined long-term for Micky Mellon's men.

Midfielder Wesolowski is out for the season with cruciate knee ligament damage and Mangan could be out for another two months after an operation.

Fleetwood loanee Keith Southern is also suspended after being sent off at Newport last month.
