Reading are awaiting fitness updates on three players ahead of the home game against Sheffield Wednesday.
Hope Akpan is hoping to get the all-clear from a specialist having been out since suffering a dislocated shoulder in November, and fellow midfielder Danny Guthrie is trying to overcome a groin strain.
The Royals are also waiting to discover the extent of the ankle injury which kept right-back Chris Gunter out of Tuesday's goalless draw at Millwall.
Centre-half Anton Ferdinand is set to miss out again with a calf problem.
Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson is expected to return to the squad following suspension.
Hutchinson, signed from Chelsea, missed the goalless midweek draw with Birmingham after being sent off in last week's home defeat to Bolton.
New loan signing Will Keane is hoping to resume after making his debut on Tuesday night despite being forced off due to a cut eye that required stitches, as is defender Joe Mattock, who made his first appearance since November after an ankle injury.
Midfielder Lewis Baker, on loan from Chelsea, made his full debut in midweek and is expected to start again as Wednesday chase a third straight league win on the road.
