Stevenage Borough vs Oxford United preview - Pett doubt for Boro

Tom Pett is a major doubt for Stevenage ahead of the visit of Oxford.

The winger was forced off injured during the first half of the defeat at Shrewsbury, where a handful of other players also sustained injuries.

Boro boss Graham Westley said: "Last weekend was a tough one for us, we took some serous bangs. We might see one or two out for the season as a consequence of that. It's not an easy time. Thankfully we have got some good boys in reserve."

Jon Ashton and Harry Worley are already out injured. Worley will see a specialist next week about his long-term problem in the hope that he will be able to resume training in mid-February.

Joe Skarz and Richard Brindley could both make their Oxford debuts.

Left-back Skarz terminated his contract with Rotherham and joined the U's last week but arrived too late to feature in their 2-2 draw with Exeter while Brindley followed him from the New York Stadium on a one-month loan on Thursday.

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis is also likely to be involved having returned to training following treatment on a knee injury at parent club Charlton.

The U's are hopeful of agreeing a deal to keep Jarrow Roofing striker John Campbell at the Kassam until the end of the season. Campbell has scored once in three appearances since arriving on loan and talks continue between the clubs.
