Carlisle vs Mansfield Town preview - Wyke set for Carlisle bow

Posted Friday, January 30, 2015 by PA

Carlisle's recent signing Charlie Wyke is hoping to make his full debut for the club in the home game against Mansfield.

Wyke stepped off the bench in last week's defeat at Bury for his first appearance and manager Keith Curle could be tempted to start with him.

Defender Danny Grainger is trying to shake off an ankle injury and will be monitored but midfielder Gary Dicker (leg fracture) and striker Billy Paynter (Achilles) remain sidelined.

Midfielder Anthony Griffith is expected to make his home debut while winger Danny Kearns is edging closer towards full match fitness and could be included in the squad.

Mansfield have no new injury worries ahead of the trip north.

Following a much-improved performance against league leaders Wycombe last weekend, Stags boss Adam Murray may choose to name an unchanged team in Cumbria.

Fit-again Alex Fisher, fellow forwards Reggie Lambe and Matt Rhead, midfielders Jamie McGuire and Simon Heslop and defender Lee Beevers provide Murray with options all over the pitch should he wish to tweak anything.

Defender John Dempster remains out injured and midfielder Fergus Bell has left the club and signed for League One side Yeovil.
