Last season's Champions League winners were rumoured to be interested in snapping up the 20-year-old last summer.
However, the La Liga giants never made a move for the England international and he ended up staying at Anfield.
But according to reports, that's about to change.
Numerous sources in Spain claim Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti is preparing a stunning £50m bid to sign the pacy winger, who has attracted interest from the Reds' Premier League rivals Chelsea.
If Real do make a move for Sterling, they will face a difficult task to lure the forward to the Bernabeu.
REAL KEEN: Raheem Sterling is a target for Real Madrid
In a recent interview, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers revealed Sterling was on the verge of signing a huge new deal at Anfield.
He said: "It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded very imminently.
"The player is very happy.
"It [the delay] is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon."
