Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben claims he was bitten by a crocodile in Qatar

On Saturday, whilst the rest of European football was toiling away, the Bundesliga were still on their winter break.

And, Bayern Munich have been relaxing in Qatar with a fixture against Al Hilal on Saturday, a full 13 days before they return to action in the German top flight.

During their trip, Bayern star Arjen Robben has picked up one of the most ridiculous injuries for some time – as he claims he was bitten by a crocodile!

According to Robben, he went to pick up a lost ball from a lake and "When I got a ball from the hole by the pool, a crocodile bit me."

Pictures have emerged of Robben with his left arm heavily strapped up – including, according to Bild, bandages around “heavily bruised thumb, middle and ring fingers.”

There are though plenty of suggestions that Robben was merely joking about his injury from a crocodile. And, that it was simply an injury caused from lifting weights.

The fact there are no crocodiles in Qatar may suggest that the flying Dutchman might not be telling the truth!
