AFC Wimbledon vs Carlisle preview - Connolly added to Dons squad

David Connolly is in the AFC Wimbledon squad to face Carlisle.

The much-travelled striker, 37, has rejoined the Dons 14 years after he first signed for them following his release by Portsmouth.

Connolly is short of match fitness, having yet to play this season, but he is set for a place among the substitutes with Ade Azeez partnering Adebayo Akinfenwa up front.

Defenders Andy Frampton (ankle) and Jack Smith (hamstring) are the Dons' only injury absentees.

Carlisle's new signing Anthony Griffith is expected to be in contention. The midfielder signed an 18-month deal this week following his release from Shrewsbury.

Midfielder Brad Potts has been struggling with a fractured toe in recent weeks but is determined to play on with the aid of painkilling injections in a bid to help the Cumbrians climb away from relegation trouble.

Matt Young is expected to resume at right-back following his arrival on loan from Sheffield Wednesday last week in time to make his debut in the home defeat to Cambridge.

Centre-half Sean O'Hanlon was a surprise recall to the starting line-up against Cambridge and is hoping to retain his place while winger Danny Kearns is not expected to feature as he continues to build up his fitness.
