Glasgow Rangers vs Dumbarton preview - Rangers begin life after Macleod
Posted Saturday, January 03, 2015 by PA
Rangers must find a way to cope without Lewis Macleod for Saturday's home match against Dumbarton and beyond after the midfielder joined Brentford this week.
Caretaker boss Kenny McDowall, meanwhile, takes charge of the side for the first time at Ibrox.
Defender Marius Zaliukas (knee) lacks fitness but has rejoined the first-team squad while goalkeeper Cammy Bell (shoulder) is continuing with his recovery work.
Dumbarton include goalkeeper Danny Rogers after agreement was reached with Aberdeen to extend his loan spell.
However Mark McLaughlin (back) and Jordan Kirkpatrick (hip) are ruled out.
Steven McDougall and Hugh Murray left the Sons this week to join Clyde, with the on-loan pair of Chris Kane and Kieran MacDonald returning to St Johnstone and Hamilton respectively to lessen the numbers further.
Manager Ian Murray said: "Rangers will be determined to bounce back from losing to Hibs so we have to be ready to handle that.
"We won well at Cowdenbeath last Saturday so we can go to Ibrox and be confident."
