Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to rescue Nemanja Vidic from his Inter Milan hell.

The Serbian defender left Old Trafford in the summer but has been DUMPED onto the transfer list by former Man City boss Roberto Mancini.

And Van Gaal is looking to pick him up on a free after spending nine years at Old Trafford.

Vidic has found it hard to settle in Serie A and has been heavily criticised for boob-ridden displays with new boss Mancini quickly losing patience since his November arrival.

RETURN: Vidic has failed to settle at Inter and now United want him back

Inter are unlikely to ask for a fee but will be delighted to rid themselves of Vidic's £50,000 a week wages.

Vidic will be allowed to leave when the transfer window opens at the end of the week and he would love to return to United where he could provide a short fix in defence until the end of the season.

Juventus and Besiktas are also showing interest in Vidic but "home" is where the heart is and the United legend would walk back into Old Trafford without any hesitation.

Van Gaal is also looking seriously at a move for Everton defender Seamus Coleman and will battle it out with Chelsea to clinch a £25million deal.

The Irishman has emerged as one of the Premier League's top defenders in recent seasons.

United were keen on landing Coleman during the summer but a swap deal involving former Everton star Marouane Fellaini failed to materialise.

Goodison boss Roberto Martinez is desperate to keep Coleman but Van Gaal and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho won't give up without a fight for his signature.

Meanwhile, out of favour wideman Adnan Januzaj is being tipped to join sacked United boss David Moyes on loan at his new club Real Sociedad.
