Luis Enrique blocked Pedro's Barcelona exit

2014 is all but over and Pedro is still a Barcelona player, something that had looked unlikely during the summer. Last season was extremely tough on the Spaniard. 'Tata' Martino never showed any faith in him. He only played him as and when, which knocked the player's confidence.
Pedro knew that Messi and Neymar were 'untouchable' but he could not understand why his performances were not valued in the same way as those of Alexis.
Barcelona received offers for Pedro. Arsenal led the charge, but Wenger was bluntly told: "We won't discuss Pedro, but we will Alexis".
Luis Enrique was the man behind Barcelona's position. The Barça boss made it very clear to the club that he had plans for Pedro and that it was Alexis who was destined to leave the Camp Nou.
