Bayern Munich - SC Freiburg preview - Streich aiming to cause upset

Freiburg coach Christian Streich insists his side are not heading to Bayern Munich to be the proverbial lambs to the slaughter on Tuesday night.
Bayern have lost only two of their last 74 matches and Freiburg head to the runaway league leaders as rank outsiders, but Streich says it is not going to be a damage limitation exercise at the Allianz Arena.
"We're heading to Munich for a Bundesliga game, and when you've got a Bundesliga game, you want to win it, and that goes even for a trip to Bayern," Streich said at a press conference.
"We don't go into the game thinking we've got no chance. Not at all. Anything's possible in football.
"We've lost five games so far and not lost the other 10, so that means we've only lost a third and there are teams who have lost more than us.
"We're not going into the game just to limit the damage at all, we want to give them a game and take our chances."
Bayern would not expect anything else with their coach Pep Guardiola praising his side's ability to raise their game against any opponents.
"I'm surprised by the mentality of my players after two years in which they have won everything," Guardiola said.
"They play every three days with the same great mentality to win, win, win. It's amazing.
"That's not easy and I'm very, very proud of my players."
They have two more games to win in 2014 before the Bundesliga breaks for the winter.
When the league reconvenes, they travel to second-place Wolfsburg in a game which could go a long way to determining the destiny of the domestic title before facing Shakhtar Donetsk in what would appear to be a comfortable last-16 Champions League tie.
"We've got to watch out," warned Arjen Robben on his club's website, referring to the Champions League draw. "They've got some good Brazilians in their team, but we'll analyse them well and focus on our job, then we should make it."
Just like on Tuesday, when they will be expected to beat Freiburg at the Allianz Arena to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 12 points.
