Bayern Munich vs CSKA Moscow preview - Muller hopes to put on a show

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller wants to "entertain the fans" when Bayern conclude the group stage of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Bavarians were among the first to qualify for the last 16 with two games to spare while they have also secured top spot with four wins and one defeat.

Wednesday's match is therefore something of a dead rubber for them, although they are not going to let the 61,000 fans in the Allianz Arena just sit still and shiver.

"There are going to be a lot of fans in the stadium who we want to make happy, and that is our job," Muller said on his club's website.

"We want to carry on the way we are going, then we can go on our holidays in a relaxed mood."

While there is little at stake for Bayern, CSKA are playing for their future in Europe next year.

A win in Munich would see them snatch second in the group behind Bayern if Roma fail to beat Manchester City in the other final game in the group.

They would finish third and qualify for the Europa League in the event of a win for Roma against City, no matter what result they get at the Allianz Arena.

And according to Bayern captain Philipp Lahm, CSKA are not the only ones hoping to see Bayern beaten on Wednesday.

"I can understand that many people want us to lose, but we're not going to do anybody this favour," the 31-year-old told Sky television.

"We're not playing any bad games anymore. You get the feeling that we don't even know how to play badly.

"Our coach is tactically sensational and you can see that in the way we play football. There's not been any moment recently in which we have not dominated our games."

Lahm misses out on Wednesday due to a broken ankle which rules him out until the new year.
