Millwall vs Middlesbrough preview - Wilkinson back for Lions

Posted Friday, December 05, 2014 by PA

Andy Wilkinson returns to the Millwall squad for the visit of Middlesbrough.

The on-loan Stoke defender has completed a three-match ban after he was sent off against Blackburn last month and is set to slot straight back in at right-back.

But winger Lee Martin is a doubt after limping off at Bournemouth last weekend with a foot injury while full-back Carlos Edwards (cruciate) and former Boro midfielder Nicky Bailey (calf) remain sidelined.

Strikers Ricardo Fuller and Magaye Gueye are pushing for starts after climbing off the bench against the Cherries and helping Millwall come back from 2-0 down to snatch a point.

Middlesbrough could be without five players for the trip to London.

Striker Patrick Bamford and midfielder Adam Clayton missed training on Thursday through illness.

Centre-back Dani Ayala was substituted following a clash of heads during the 1-1 draw with Blackburn last Saturday while goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos sustained a hip injury in the same game.

Tomas Mejias and Jamal Blackman are on standby to replace Konstantopoulos but on-loan Tottenham defender Ryan Fredericks is definitely out with a thigh injury.
