Tranmere Rovers vs Portsmouth preview - Donnelly back for Rovers

Posted Friday, November 28, 2014 by PA

Tranmere will have George Donnelly back from suspension for the clash with Portsmouth at Prenton Park.

The striker has now completed a three-match ban he picked up for receiving a straight red card in this month's FA Cup win over Bristol Rovers.

Goalkeeper Peter Brezovan is doubtful for Rovers as he is struggling with a stiff back, while Danny Johnson sat out last weekend's home loss to Southend through injury.

Cole Stockton came through his comeback from two months on the sidelines that day, though, and Jason Koumas also appeared as a substitute following a month out.

Lee Holmes will be added to the Pompey squad after joining on loan from Preston earlier in the week.

Defenders Danny East and Adam Webster are back in training following knee injuries but the trip will probably come too soon.

Midfielders Wes Fogden and James Dunne and striker Tom Craddock (all knee) remain sidelined.

Holmes aside, boss Andy Awford is unlikely to make too many changes to the squad which beat Morecambe 3-0 last weekend.
