Real Madrid hit the sweet spot

There's just no stopping or even troubling this incredible Real Madrid team.

There had been talk of a potential upset at Ipurua against a tough Eibar after the injury to Luka Modric and the effects of the international matches on the players, but Real once again proved they will not come apart.

After the loss of Modric, Sami Khedira will feature more, but the German did not play at all in the team's first match without the Croat.

The team is playing well, scoring bags of goals, does not get distracted and seems capable of overcoming any injury problems that arise. 'Los Blancos' thrashed their honourable rivals - a side who cause most teams problems - with incredible ease.

It was a professional victory. There was not even a hint of carelessness, condescension or relaxation. Real Madrid played every minute as if there were no tomorrow, with the admirable intensity required.

The players were committed and did not mess around. The team was well organised and well led, and is embarking on what could be an extraordinary journey. Defeat seems like a distant memory, as the team is destroying everything in its path and is about to smash more records.

Real have now clocked up nine consecutive victories in La Liga and 14 in all competitions, with an average of almost four goals per game since the start of the season. We are almost running out of superlatives to describe this fantastic side
