David Moyes, Sociedad's fourth Brit in the dugout

David Moyes will be the fourth British manager that Real Sociedad have had in all its history. Before the Scot came Harry Lowe, John Benjamin Toshack and Chris Coleman.

Harry Lowe went down in history.... as a player

The sixth manager with the most first division games managed at the club, Lowe was at the helm of Sociedad between 1930 and 1935 and oversaw 94 matches. On 24th March 1934, at the age of 48, he had no choice but to play himself against Valencia, as he didn't have enough players available. They lost 7-1, but the manager gave the assist to Olivares' goal. Thanks to that day, Lowe is the oldest player to have played in Spain's la Liga.

Toshack, Real Sociedad's record-man

The Welshman managed the club on three occasions. The first (1985-1989) saw him take his team to win the Cup - the club's last official title won. He returned in 1991 to leave in 1995 and then managed again between 2000 and 2002. In all, 322 matches in Spain's first division.

Coleman left the team after 20 matches in Second Division

Another Welshman, Coleman arrived at the club to get the team promoted back to First Division, but resigned due to differences with Badiola, the club's president, after matchday 20 when the club was fifth in the league and the manager had suffered just one defeat in his team's last 11 games.
