Reid denies managerless Brewers

Reuben Reid rescued Plymouth's unbeaten run in a 1-1 draw at managerless Burton.

Reid bagged his ninth goal of the season from the penalty spot after Alex MacDonald had given Burton caretaker boss Mike Whitlow the hope of victory.

Argyle goalkeeper Luke McCormick made a superb save to clutch a Matt Palmer header and was also tested by a Stuart Beavon shot as Burton made the early running.

The usually watertight Plymouth defence was breached for the first time in almost 10 hours of football when MacDonald saw his 12-yard shot creep into the net off the inside of McCormick's right post after a well worked move with Beavon and Palmer.

It was the winger's fourth goal of the season - against the club where he had two spells on loan from Burnley.

Argyle came to life after the break and Reid made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 70th minute after being brought down by Phil Edwards.

Burton pressed hard in the closing stages but McCormick brilliantly kept out substitute Adam McGurk close-range header to stretch Argyle's run to seven league and cup games.
