CASH destined for Brit construction firms working on the 2022 World Cup has been siphoned off to terror group Isis, it was claimed last night.

The Foreign Office has been urged to probe claims UK companies awarded contracts for the project in Qatar are being shortchanged.

Instead some of the unpaid cash has ended up in the hands of terrorists.

Prime Minister David Cameron is set to raise the issue with the Emir of Qatar during talks later today.

Critics want pressure put on Qatar to stop the flow of money between rich donors and extremists threatening countries around the world.

Qatar controversially won the bid to host the tournament despite concern soaring summer temperatures will make games impossible to play.

Several British construction businesses have won contracts to work for large Qatari firms on building venues.

But Steve Rotheram, Labour MP for Liverpool Walton, claimed companies have had money withheld which has been redirected to IS, the terror group formerly known as Isis.

Speaking during Foreign Office question time he told Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood: “Can you look urgently into these allegations and can you offer support?”

Meanwhile, an expert said last night that Brit hostage John Cantlie’s latest propaganda video for IS was such a fake even the flies were not real.

In the five-and-a-half minute clip the 43-year-old photojournalist is purportedly shown strolling around Kobane dressed in black.

But forensic analyst Ashley Windsor said it had been photoshopped, adding: “It has been heavily compressed and edited making it difficult to know what the original looked like.”
