Eibar 1 : 1 Granada CF - Eibar and Granada share spoils

Eibar and Granada both failed to end winless runs as they played out a 1-1 draw at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium.

Granada were looked to arrest a four-match losing streak and they made the best possible start when Allan Nyom put them in front after just eight minutes.

But newly-promoted Eibar, who have still not won at home since they beat Real Sociedad on the opening day of the season, equalised through Eneko Boveda to ensure the spoils were shared.

The draw was enough to move Eibar up to 10th, while Granada remain a point and four places behind them in 14th.

Granada, who had conceded 10 goals in their four previous matches, flew out of the blocks as Nyom put them in front after just eight minutes.

The Cameroonian right-back scored only his second-ever professional goal by stroking it home from 12 yards out after Abdoul Sissoko's cross in from the left.

Referee Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz then dished out four yellow cards in 12 minutes as the contest became feisty midway through the first half, but he managed to avoid sending anyone off throughout the match.

Eibar, who won the Seguna Division last season, were struggling to find a way through until Boveda took full advantage of a lucky break in the 37th minute.

The ball rolled invitingly towards him on the edge of the box after loose defending from Granada and he instinctively rifled it through a crowd of bodies into the top corner, leaving Los Carmenes keeper Roberto with no chance.

It remained 1-1 at the interval, but after such an exciting first half the game was underwhelming after the break.

Instead of opening up further and becoming a goals fest both sides tightened up and goalmouth action was at a premium, with plenty of hopeful long-range shooting and little precision.

Joaquin Caparros' Granada side face the daunting prospect of Real Madrid next Saturday as they look to avoid their winless run extending to six matches, while Eibar travel to Rayo Vallecano on November 3.
