One half of Stirling's interim management team Darren Smith looks set for a touchline role only against visitors Airdrie after struggling with illness this week.

The other half, Ross Forsyth, looks set to play as Craig Comrie (stomach) and Lewis Coult (ankle) miss out, while Willie Robertson is suspended. Phil Johnston returns after a hamstring problem.

Smith said: "It has been a hectic week, but hopefully we have prepared the team well.

"The players should be looking at this as a chance to impress as their new manager could be watching.

"The one thing we have to do is cut out the individual mistakes that have hurt us all season."

Airdrie have three players facing fitness tests with Ben Everton-Richards, David Proctor and Marc Fitzpatrick all keeping manager Gary Bollan waiting to name his team.

The Diamonds slipped back into ninth place after their draw at Peterhead last weekend, but there was no despondency.

Bollan said: "We have picked up four points from the last six and scored five goals while only losing one, so we can be positive.

"I do not think too much will have changed at Stirling despite the manager leaving.

"It is still the same group of players who made things difficult when we played out a goalless draw in August."
