Barnsley vs Bristol City preview - Bailey back for Barnsley
Posted Friday, October 24, 2014 by PA
Barnsley midfielder James Bailey returns to contention following suspension and boss Danny Wilson has no new selection worries against Bristol City.
Bailey missed the midweek home defeat to Notts County through suspension and Wilson must decide whether to recall him to the starting line-up or stick with Paul Digby.
Winger Dale Jennings remains sidelined with an ankle injury that has kept him out of the last five games, but defender Martin Cranie will be available following the birth of his daughter this week.
Midfielder Brad Abbott, defender Joe Dudgeon and striker Kane Hemmings are all pushing for recalls while new signing Mike Phenix hopes to be involved.
Bristol City are set to be boosted by the return of Korey Smith when they look to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
The former Oldham midfielder sat out their 2-2 draw with Bradford on Tuesday night after just one day's training since returning from a hamstring strain but they hope he will be declared fit to face the Tykes.
Manager Steve Cotterill, who saw his side concede a late leveller at Ashton Gate, is considering freshening up his table-topping team, with the likes of Greg Cunningham and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas hoping for the nod.
Having not lost in 14 League One matches, City currently sit six points clear at the top of the table.
