Real Sociedad 1 : 2 Getafe - Getafe feel the force of Yoda

Real Sociedad's nightmare start to the season continued on Monday night as Abdoul Yoda scored twice in the dying stages to give Getafe a 2-1 away win.

It seemed like Pablo Hervais 82nd minute goal was going to give Sociedad their second win of the season, but Yoda had other ideas.

He levelled in the final seconds of the 90 minutes with a well-placed shot, and then added the finishing touch to Jorge Sammir's penetrating run to snatch the points with almost the final kick of the match.

Although Getafe's Sammir tested out Enaut Zubikarai in the opening minutes, the match was slow to get going and there were few incidents of note until midway through the first half when Pablo Sarabia drilled a shot against the post from an angle, with the rebound coming back for Fredy Hinestroza who saw his effort on the follow-up blocked by Joseba Zaldua.

That stirred Sociedad into life and moments later Gonzalo Castro struck a post at the opposite end.

But that was as close as either side came to breaking the deadlock in the first 45 minutes.

Sociedad threatened first in the second half, with David Zurutuza turning neatly inside the area but firing straight at Vicente Guaita who was able to palm the ball to safety.

Yoda then tested Zubikarai at the other end but the goalkeeper was able to push it clear.

A neat Getafe move created space for Michel Herrero in the 72nd minute but his low shot was straight at the goalkeeper and another chance went begging.

Instead it was Sociedad who snatched the lead in the 82nd minute as Carlos Vela's superb cross put it on a plate for Hervais, who could not miss, with his effort dribbling over the line.

They seemed on course for a priceless victory, but it was snatched away with seconds left on the clock as Yoda, having sparked the move with a snaking run, threaded a shot through a crowd of players and inside the left-hand post.

And there was worse to come as Sammir was afforded far too much time and space to run into the area from the left wing almost in slow motion before picking out Yoda who tapped into the open goal.

The win lifts Getafe up to 10th but Sociedad hover just outside the bottom three in 16th with five points from eight matches.
