David de Gea enjoyed the perfect start to his competitive career with Spain by keeping a clean sheet in their 4-0 win over Luxembourg.
Vicente Del Bosque decided to bring De Gea into the team after Iker Casillas' poor display against Slovakia last week and he didn't disappoint.
Luxembourg may not have been the toughest opponent but De Gea will be brimming with confidence after keeping a clean sheet and moving forward, he is now in contention to become Spain's No.1 goalkeeper ahead of Casillas.
Speaking after the game, De Gea was delighted and proud at his performance and is now ready to commit 100% with Manchester United.
"I feel very comfortable with the team, this was also a very important victory for the team," he said
"I need to gain confidence bit by bit and the encouragement they're giving me makes things much easier."
"The manager decided to start me. I’m always coming in with the utmost desire to help the team. Casillas congratulated me."
Making his full competitive for Spain is a massive moment for De Gea in his career and he is now at the top of his game for both club and country at just 23.
