Man United to pounce for Dutch World Cup star?

Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder is set to walk out on Galatasaray as the Turkish club has failed to pay his wages for three months.

The Holland midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United as the long-term replacement for Paul Scholes, ever since the talented playmaker retired.

And speculation about the former Inter Milan man moving to Old Trafford intensified after ex-Netherlands boss and friend Louis van Gaal took over from David Moyes.

Dutch paper De Telegraaf has now revealed the 30-year-old has not received his wages for 12 weeks and he could now appeal to FIFA to rip up his contract and allow him to move to another club.

Sneijder is under contract at Galatasaray until 2016 but is now apparently owed around £1m.

Speaking on international duty with Holland, Sneijder said: "It's true that I am owed money. Galatasaray are working to get their finances in order.

"But I am just concentrating on the Oranje. My management is talking to the club about a solution."
