Danny Welbeck's Champions League hat trick against Galatasaray brought him hasty comparisons to Thierry Henry from pundits and fans, but teammate Lukas Podolski took things to an even stranger place with a photo of Welbeck as a skinny Homer Simpson.
Podolski posted the picture to his Instagram account along with the caption, "Who is this joining us for training? #Fun #Training #AFC #Homer #Simpsons #Doh #Poldi #aha #Özil #mysteryguest." It seems likely that this is a part of the ongoing partnership between The Simpsons and major football clubs around the world, which has already included deals with Chelsea and Barcelona, as well as Bart Simpson signing with Zenit in the weirdest move prior to this.
