DANIEL STURRIDGE is set to sign a new Liverpool deal that could earn him almost £40m.
BIG MONEY: Daniel Sturridge could earn up to £150k a week from his new deal at Anfield
The Anfield outfit - who are braced for the striker being included in Roy Hodgson's England squad today against their wishes - are putting the finishing touches to a contract that will more than double his money and keep him at the club until 2019.
Sturridge can expect to see his pay packet soar from £65,000 to beyond £150,000-a-week if he is playing and scoring regularly.
Talks began at the end of last season and, despite the player's representatives and the club being apart at the start of the month, a deal has now been done to tie Sturridge's long term future to the club.
All contracts Liverpool offer are now performance-related which means Sturridge will be rewarded financially for results on the pitch.
The leap in salary is a sign of the progress the 25-year-old has made since arriving from Chelsea for £12m in January 2013, with 36 goals in just 52 games to his name.
Sturridge has been sidelined for a month with a thigh injury sustained on England duty, but he could be involved against West Brom on Saturday.
