The summer signing from Levante has defended his fellow goalkeeper and says supporters should not boo the Spain international
Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas says supporters who whistle team-mate Iker Casillas are being "unfaithful" to the club.
The two shot-stoppers have been jostling for the No.1 spot in Carlo Ancelotti's line-up since the Costa Rica international's summer move to the Spanish capital from Levante.
Casillas was subjected to criticism from some sections of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd during a recent derby defeat to Atletico Madrid and Navas, who started Tuesday's Liga win over Elche, felt for his team-mate.
"The whistles are unfair to him because he has had a big career at Madrid," Navas told reporters.
"The thing we ask is for our supporters to encourage us. Those who whistle Casillas are unfaithful to Madrid."
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old was pleased with having finally securing a Liga start, in the 5-1 rout of Elche at the Bernabeu.
"It's very nice," he added. "It was always one of my goals to get here and play in this stadium. It is a privilege. I am happy because we won."
