Hannover 96 vs Koln preview - Cologne defending proud record

Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn will be out to extend his proud Bundesliga record when Cologne travel to Hannover on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old survived his first Rhineland derby in the Bundesliga at the weekend to extend his personal unbeaten streak to 630 minutes.

His side have also not lost all season with five clean sheets kept by their rookie goalkeeper, DFB-Pokal first round included.

No other goalkeeper has survived his first four matches in the top flight without conceding and defender Dominic Maroh is hoping their combined efforts can keep that run going.

"Ideally, we would still not have conceded come the 34th round of matches," he said.

"We're a tough nut to crack and we defend with everything we've got. We've got to try to keep this desperation not to concede goals for as long as possible."

They can expect to be put to the test on Wednesday, though, by a Hannover side who have won two and drawn one of their first four games of the season.

"Cologne have not let anything through yet and it's not going to be easy for us, but I think we'll find a way," said their coach Tayfun Korkut.

Korkut's only worries are in his defence, where Christian Pander misses out and Manuel Schmiedebach is also sidelined.

He will hope Miiko Albornoz can shake off an Achilles injury to return to a side who have won four and drawn one of their last five home matches, spanning two seasons.
