Hoffenheim vs Freiburg preview - Gisdol warns of Freiburg threat

Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol expects Freiburg to be in an unforgiving mood when they arrive at the Rhein-Neckar Arena on Tuesday night.

Freiburg felt particularly hard done by when they conceded a goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time to Hertha Berlin on Friday night, a goal which denied them their first win of the season.

Their coach Christian Streich admitted he would have a job on his hands lifting his players' spirits after the "ludicrious" refereeing decision, and Gisdol is expecting to feel the full force of their anger.

"Freiburg are very good opponents and they're not getting what they deserve right now," he said at a press conference.

"They could easily have seven or eight points and I'm intrigued to see how we will deal with this challenge tomorrow."

Gisdol is more interested in what is happening at his own club, though, with an unbeaten start to the season earning them a share of top spot in the Bundesliga after four matches.

"We've improved tactically, become more versatile and that is what makes us hard for opponents to fathom," Gisdol said.

"We've also got an even bigger competition for places and nobody really knows if they will be playing or not, and it's certainly an advantage to have different players for each position.

"We're more unpredictable than we were last year."

Streich admitted on the eve of his side's next game that Friday night's draw still rankles with him.

"Berlin only had shots on goal in the 94th and 96th minutes," he said. "We didn't have many ourselves, but certainly we had good build-up play and movement, yet here we are still with only two points.

"But complaining gets us nowhere. We want to go out there and prove in Hoffenheim what we have already shown in the games against Frankfurt, Monchengladbach and now against Berlin."
