Queen of the South's interim manager James Fowler will be without a long list of players when takes charge of the Dumfries men for a second time.
Hamstring injuries have ruled out Mark Kerr and Michael Paton, a back problem has sidelined Chris Mitchell and Paul Burns (knee) and Stephen McKenna (hip) are also missing.
Fowler said: "The players have been terrific again in training this week and that has built on a strong display in the 1-1 draw with Falkirk last weekend.
"Hibs are strong, but I'm sure that we will go out and look for the result that will keep us above them in the table."
Hibernian have an unchanged squad, but striker Farid El Alagui is a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury.
Defender Jordon Forster knows they need to produce a more consistent performance after a patchy period which has seen three defeats and comeback wins against Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath.
Forster said: "The final 20 minutes of the Dumbarton game I think we were incredible and for parts of the Cowdenbeath game we were very good.
"It's hard to dominate a game for 90 minutes but we need to make sure it's a lot longer than one half or 20 minutes here and 20 minutes there.
"It's something we have been working on.
"There have been a lot of new faces and we are still in a rebuilding process but we are getting there
"I am very confident going into games and so are the rest of the players."
