ADNAN JANUZAJ has given Louis van Gaal some food for thought ahead of Manchester United's trip to Leicester on Sunday.

The arrivals of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao at Old Trafford has raised questions whether teenager Janzuaj would be given enough games this season to develop his exciting potential.

But his hat-trick for United's under-21s against Sunderland in front of Van Gaal and his assistant Ryan Giggs on Monday evening pressed his claims for a first Premier League start of the season after being restricted to substitute appearances in the first four games.

The Belgium international denies he is growing unsettled over his lack of game-time.

"I saw some reports saying I was unhappy," he said. "That couldn't be further from the truth.

"I love this club and I'm excited to play for this manager. The fans have been so good to me and I want to repay them.

"It's a big club, I want to do as well as I can, gain lots of experience and win trophies too."

Asked where he would prefer to play, he added: "No10 of course. That's my preferred position, but I'm happy to play anywhere for the manager."

A further boost for Van Gaal was that summer signing Luke Shaw stepped up his recovery from a hamstring injury by completing his first 45 minutes of action since United's pre-season tour of the USA.
