Guingamp 2 - 1 Bordeaux: Bordeaux downed by Guingamp

Bordeaux missed the chance to return to the top of Ligue 1 as first-half goals from Christophe Mandanne and Moustapha Diallo sent them to a 2-1 defeat at lowly Guingamp.
Willy Sagnol's side had started the new season in fine style but had only Cheick Diabate's late consolation to show for their efforts as the hosts hung on to move out of the bottom three.
Guingamp were impressive from the start with Claudio Beauvue bringing a save out of Cedric Carrasso before former Newcastle man Sylvain Marveaux set up the opener in the 26th minute.
Marveaux delivered a 30-yard free-kick onto the head of Diallo who nodded the ball past Carrasso to open the scoring.
And eight minutes later the home side extended their lead when Jeremy Pied was hauled down by Mariano in the box and Mandanne stepped up to send Carrasso the wrong way from the spot.
Jocelyn Gourvennec's side almost added a third before the break when Marveaux lofted a pass to Beauvue who steered his volley wide of the target.
The one way traffic continued and Guingamp were denied a second-half penalty when Diego Contento appeared to handle in the area before Mandanne fired wide with only Carrasso to beat moments later.
Bordeaux were given hope late on when Thomas Toure cut the ball back for Diabate before the powerful striker finished with aplomb on 85 minutes, but the hosts held out for only their second three points of the season.
