Man City, Spurs & Man United circle as Everton star James McCarthy's contract talks stall

EVERTON risk losing James McCarthy as they have yet to open talks over a new contract.
STALLING: Everton reportedly agreed to improve McCarthy's deal but have yet to do so
The 23-year-old midfielder joined last year in a deadline-beating move from Wigan and a contract was hurriedly agreed to ensure the £13million move went ahead in time.
Everton are understood to have made promises to improve terms based on his performances and McCarthy believes he has met those targets.
However, despite recent noises that the club were poised to sit down an open negotiations, talks have yet to take place.
Manchester United and City both have an interest as do Tottenham who were keen to sign McCarthy prior to his Goodison move.
