Sevilla vs Getafe preview - Emery: No problem with Reyes

Sevilla coach Unai Emery insists he has no problem with forward Jose Antonio Reyes.

Reyes has only played 12 minutes for the Andalusian side this term, when he came off the bench in the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid.

Since then he has been an unused substitute for both of Sevilla's opening two Primera Division matches of the season, a 1-1 home draw with Valencia followed by a 2-1 victory at Espanyol.

And reports emerged after the latter game suggesting the relationship between Reyes and Emery had broken down, with the player voicing his unhappiness to the coach.

However, speaking at his press conference to preview Sunday's home league clash with Getafe, Emery said of Reyes: "I'm very happy with him, although I know I have to be really on top of him. I know it, the club knows it, we all know it.

"I don't have any problem with him, but there are times in training or games where you have to raise your voice to find the maximum intensity.

"Coaches often get at players in tense situations so that they know how to deal with those moments in a game.

"As well as that, players who aren't playing will be unhappy. That's normal, not only him.

"If you translate things like that as controversies then you are wrong."

With Sevilla's results improving match by match, Emery is looking for his side to continue building on Sunday.

He said: "We need to take another step forward in terms of what we have offered against Valencia and then Espanyol, both collectively and individually."

Getafe coach Cosmin Contra has no doubt that in Europa League champions Sevilla, his side are coming up against formidable opponents.

But he is feeling cautiously optimistic ahead of the game.

Contra, whose team have so far lost at Celta Vigo and then beaten Almeria at home, said on www.getafecf.com: "We are meeting one of the best teams in Spain, and we know it will be difficult.

"But we have worked very well and that gives us a lot of confidence that we can get something positive out there."
