LOUIS VAN GAAL has told Marouane Fellaini that he plans to make him an important part of the Manchester United team.
FLOP: Marouane Fellaini hasn't scored for United
The Belgian flop, 26, has struggled since making a £27.5m move from Everton last year.
He has yet to score for United and is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.
But new United boss Van Gaal thinks Fellaini has a future at Old Trafford.
Reports in Belgium claim Van Gaal has sat down with the midfielder to discuss his role.
There the Dutchman outlined his plans to make Fellaini an integral part of the side.
He's understood to have reassured Fellaini, who had been linked with a move to Napoli, that he will get a chance to shine on his return.
Fellaini is expected to be back available in three weeks.
The man mountain will compete with new signings Ander Herrera, Daley Blind and Angel Di Maria for a starting berth.
