Morecambe vs Cheltenham Town preview - Shrimps short at back

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley could be short of defenders against Cheltenham.

Captain Mark Hughes still has to sit out another two games of his three-match suspension while both Ryan Edwards (cramp) and Andy Parrish (dead leg) were forced off in Tuesday's win over Fleetwood.

Bentley is confident that Edwards will be available but is less hopeful on Parrish, with Laurence Wilson (knee) also a long-term absentee.

The Shrimps have multiple options in attack, though, and Padraig Amond will hope to keep his starting spot after bagging a brace in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Cheltenham could be without Lee Vaughan when the sides second and third in Sky Bet League Two do battle.

The right wing-back sat out Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Oxford having played through the pain of a foot injury against Hartlepool last weekend and he is now facing a race against time to be available to face the Shrimps.

Andy Haworth may be given his second start for the Robins if Vaughan misses out, with Jordan Wynter another option for boss Mark Yates.

Having lost just one league game between them this season, Cheltenham and Morecambe occupy two of the automatic promotion places after five games.
